Isn't God Amazing!

The day started like any other day at the office where Heidi Solem works. A co-worker stopped by just to chat for a

moment since both her and Heidi have brand new black Lab puppies. But the casual chat suddenly became more serious.

As the conversation was drawing to a close, Heidi’s friend got teary-eyed. When Heidi asked her what was wrong, she

revealed that she had just gotten a chest x-ray that showed lumps in her lungs. The friend had been a long-time smoker

and was very concerned that it might be lung cancer.

Heidi said, “I kept thinking back to a co-worker who had prayed for me twenty years before, and how that experience with God had changed my life. It was very clear that God was speaking to me and saying this was my opportunity to pass on a blessing to someone else. It was so clear to me. When I asked her if I could pray for her, she came into my office and took my hand.”

The friend had a CAT scan coming up and was nervous about what the new test would show. She was also afraid of the difficulty of putting in an IV since the last one was very difficult. Heidi prayed that the IV would go smoothly and that she would be healed so that the CAT scan would show no sign of cancer.

A couple of days later the co-worker was back in Heidi’s office. There had been no trouble with the IV and the CAT

scan showed no sign of cancer! The friend was overjoyed. She said, “Heidi, people had been telling me all day that they

would pray for me. But you were the only one who actually did!”   Isn’t God amazing!

Barb Fletcher’s mom, Karen has had several bouts with cancer over the last couple of years. This time the cancer had

reappeared in the face and neck. A large tumor as hard as a marble had appeared along Karen’s jaw line, tangled with the

primary nerves of her face and mouth.

Doctor’s were pessimistic. They told Karen, that this time the surgery would be very extensive and that they would have

to remove major nerves and tissue. Karen would never be able to drink from a cup or bottle again. The surgery to remove

the cancer would take several hours, and then after a few days a follow-up surgery with a plastic surgeon would be

required to make the damage the first surgery did, presentable.

For some reason Karen and Barb were strangely optimistic. They had prayed continually that Karen would be healed, and

even told the doctor that they expected things to go differently than planned.

The day of the surgery arrived. The surgeon began the surgery on Karen’s face. When he made the incision he could

find no tumor. The hard, marble-like growth was – gone. He spent some time confirming that there was no tumor – finally

removing some tissue and lymph nodes for further testing. The surgery which was planned to have gone on for hours, was

finished quickly.

Following surgery he met with Barb to tell her the news. He couldn’t figure it out. The growth was no longer there.

However, he assured Barb that the tests on the tissue would tell the truth about what was going on.

A week later, the test results came back – totally clear! No sign of any cancer!  Isn’t God amazing!
