Introduction
Preschools are school readiness programs. The development of cognitive and problem solving skills are necessary if children are to succeed, no only in school, but also in all phases of childhood and on into adult life. Preschools are a necessity in this age and time. Preschools give kids a head start on developing all of their skills: learning, listening, social, behavior, creative, physical and in a Christian preschool – spiritual.
Curriculum
Our schedule will be divided between free play, which includes a variety of learning games and activities that help with fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, socialization and creativity. A structured time will include different types of art activities, explorations, stories and dramatic play. We will use our large muscles in playing games, songs, dances, running, skipping and ball play to help develop gross motor skills. Included in our curriculum will be the study of comparisons, colors, shapes, sizes, seasons and recognition of numbers and letters. Emotions and social behaviors will be a main focus to prepare your children for kindergarten. Each day will include a Bible story and an opportunity to learn more about God’s love for us.
Parents
Parents are encouraged to come and participate with their child’s learning. We will be taking occasional field trips during the year and volunteers are always welcome.
Snacks
Parents will be requested to bring snacks on a rotating schedule. The snacks should be kept simple, but nutritious. Examples are cheese and crackers, fruits/veggies and dip, or peanut butter sandwiches.
Payment
Failure to contact the director in a timely fashion will result in a review of continued enrollment. We understand that situations arise from time to time, which may make timely payments of tuition difficult. If for any reason payments cannot be made as scheduled, it is the responsibility of the parent to contact the Preschool Director. The preschool is willing to work with parents on a case-by-case basis, but failure of the parent to pay for more than two months will result in termination of enrollment. In the event of a NSF (non-sufficient funds) check, a fee will be collected.
Medical
State law requires that every child in a preschool have up-to-date physical exam or a a record of your child’s shots will be needed upon enrollment to be kept in our files.
